It’s About to POP!

9/14/2021

Do you ever get the feeling that what you’re doing or about to do is going to be a game-changer? Never have I felt that what I’m doing professionally or personally is going to have such a powerful effect on our community in the greatest way possible. PopCykol brings me so much joy. I feel blessed to create and sing my way through this inspiring cyber security project.

I’ve been developing amazing content for kids with my incredibly talented designer/animator, Kemi. She’s been helping me create all types of graphics for the upcoming Password Strength Curriculum. The next step is getting the lesson into a form that kids can interact and engage with to build sustainable skills and learn good online habits.

PopCykol’s guiding star is to make this cyber security information kid-friendly by making it short, simple, and accurate. I believe we’re going to accomplish that with our debut curriculum. One of the things I’ve enjoyed about creating this is that I get to play with words. Maybe it’s because I started reading at a young age or because I was a Spelling Bee Queen or maybe it was when I read Black Beauty a dozen times when I was 7 or 8 years old. No matter the reason, reading and writing is woven into the fabric of who I am as a cyber security professional and artist. That’s why I am so passionate about PopCykol. I get to bring all the best parts of myself to this company.

I’ve shared PopCykol with so many folks since February and EVERYONE has said that this is definitely needed for kids. PopCykol partnered with WEE Nation Radio, a kid’s music radio station to share a public service announcement about Netiquette. We’re developing content for Colorado-based non-profit, A Precious Child, collaborating with other children’s music artists, there’s still time to enroll in my 4-week course for teens, and I continue to look for well-aligned partners who believe in our mission statement, “To transform people into informed, secure ambassadors of a digital world resulting in positive interactions online.”

As I build the brand and content, we need your support by sharing with your friends, family, and network. What can you do to help PopCykol? You can start by subscribing to my YouTube Channel which would be a HUGE help. I can get my custom URL once I have 100 subscribers. I know we can do it with your help. We can continue to solidify our brand and ensure kids and parents can find us easily online.

Additionally, we need to secure funding so we can continue to bring value to families and kids everywhere. Funding is essential to put out this incredible content. Would you be willing to give $20 towards our mission? If so, I’ll provide a link so you can become a donor. Raising money helps me create the content, voice characters, make kid’s music, and bring on the talent I need to complete each new curriculum. Think of it as helping kids learn a meaningful way to be safe online and building sustainable skills that can follow them throughout their lifetime. Join us and be a leader in cyber security.
